From La Rochefoucauld
Thursday morning [January 29? 1778]

The Duc de la Rochefoucauld is asked by Madame his mother to request from Monsieur Franklin five or six copies of The Dutch Banker's Letter, which was read last Monday at the Hotel de la Rochefoucauld; if Monsieur Franklin is not busy next Monday, and if he would like to come to dinner, we would take great pleasure in receiving him, and we would ask him if he would propose to Monsieur Deane, and Monsieur his grandson to come as well. If there has been any news from America, the Duc de la Rochefoucauld hopes that Monsieur Franklin would kindly let him know.
