From Madame Brillon
[c. January 1, 1778?]

Madame Brillon is deeply appreciative of the attention paid her by her good papa and Monsieur his son; she has been obliged to keep to her bed for two days because of one of the most severe of colds. She is a little better today; she embraces her good papa and his grandson with all her heart, and she wishes them the best possible new year.
