From the Duc de La Rochefoucauld
Sunday morning [June 8, 1777]

The Duc de la Rochefoucauld is entrusted by Madame his mother to request of Monsieur Franklin that he do her the honor of dining at her house Saturday the 14th, Sunday the 15th, or Monday the 16th, whichever he chooses; he is asked to please bring Monsieur his grandson, to whom the M[essieu]rs de Chabot don't want to miss saying their farewells. He is also asked to propose to M. Dean the day that he has chosen for dinner.

The Duc de la Rochefoucauld leaves tomorrow to spend three days in Rouen; if Monsieur Franklin permits, he plans to have lunch while passing through; and if by chance Monsieur Franklin has some errand for this town, he will take care of it willingly.

Addressed: Monsieur / Monsieur the doctor Franklin / In Passy
