From Francis Childs (unpublished)
New York. Dec. 7. 1788
Dear Sir

Your Letter advising of a Bill in favor of Mr. T. Bache. is received. Your command will be duly honored.

Tomorrow I sett out for Albany to attend the present session of our Legislature: it is uncertain whether I shall be on that Service 5, 6, or 8 weeks—after my return from that place, I shall proceed immediately for your City, in order to make a final Settlement of our accounts.

While I acknowledge the favors I have received, beleive me, Sir, that I shall ever remember you with Sensations of Gratitude and Esteem.

I have just finished my Sketch of the Debates of our Convention, a Copy of which I have ordered to be left with Mr. Bache for you, and hope it may come safe to hand. This has employed me for the last three months.

With the greatest respect, I have the honor to be Sir Your Humble Servant

Frans Child

His Excellency Dr. Franklin.
