From Francis Childs (unpublished)
New York Jan. 16. 1786.
Dear Sir,

I did myself the honor to address you a few days since by Mr. Gray requesting I might be informed of the Conditions on which I could be furnished with a small fount of Long Primer, do. Small Pica, do. English, do. Double Pica, and Cannon. The L. P. to contain a very extraordinary proportion of figures for figure jobbs. I trouble you with this second request lest the first may have miscarried and to inform you that your condescension to oblige me in this particular will add to those obligations which I have already had the honor to receive so much that Your Excellency may be assured my gratitude will ever show itself equal with my Respect—not to be surpassed by the Veneration of any one. I am Sir, Your Humble Servant.
