To Rodolphe-Ferdinand Grand (unpublished)
Philad. June 12. 1786.
Dear Friend,

Your Favour of the 20th of November, did not come to hand till yesterday; but I have receiv’d in their time several others written since the Date of that, particularly one enclosing my last Year’s Account, which I found right, except the Omission of an additional Article of nine Days Salary for my Service from the 2d July to the 12th amounting to 1161 Livres which would make the Ballance in my favor £6791 5s. 7d.

Having since drawn on you for considerable Sums, I directed my Grandson who wrote to you lately, to desire in my Behalf, that you would sell all my Actions of the Caisse d’Escompte, in order to put yourself in Cash. This I hereby confirm.

Being hurried at present by a good deal of Business, I cannot write more by this Opportunity, neither to you nor any other Friends; but expecting another shortly, shall then write fully to them all, I am well, and hope you and they are also well; being ever Your and their affectionate Friend

B Franklin

Mr. Grand.
