I am continually solicited by the Widows and Representatives of the Officers and others who were lost with Capt. Wickes for my Assistance in procuring some Consideration for their Wages, and Prize-Money. You know I am quite ignorant of Capt. Wickes’s Management, having had nothing to do with it. Enquire whether any thing is done or likely to be done in favour of these poor People, some of whom are in great Distress.
