To Rodolphe-Ferdinand Grand (unpublished)
Philada. Jan. 2. 1787
My dear Friend

I wrote a few Lines to you yesterday acknowledging the Receipt of your Favour of Sept. 12. but that the other of the 9th therein mentioned was not come to hand, which gave me some Concern. I have however just now receiv’d it, sent to me by Mr. Bourne with the Pieces it enclos’d, and the Postscript of the same date, all which are very satisfactory, and I would not have you give yourself or the Ministers any farther Trouble about that Receipt, as the Date of it clears us both of the Charge. It is perhaps a Cabinet Secret, on which they Should not be press’d. I am, ever, Yours most affectionately

B. Franklin

p.s. Supposing you will soon receive my Interest Money for the last Year. I shall probably draw on you soon for nearly the Amount of it, at 60 or 90 Days sight. If at any time I draw beyond the Funds in your Hands, I hereby desire you would sell a Part of my Stock, for Payment. I shall expect my Account by the Feby. Pacquet.
