From Edward Bridgen (unpublished)
London June 28 1785
Dear Sir

I am truly concerned to hear that you are unwell, and at so great an Uncertainty about your departure for America.

It is not very material, to me, whether you are at Havre in July, or August; but I wish you clear of the Channell long before the Autumnal equinox.

You must know too, that my long attendance on My Dearest Friend, and the great loss which I have sustained, has so much reduced me, that I am advised to travell, and had thoughts of the Northernpart of this Island and perhaps to return by Way of Ireland, or Wales, or Both: but when I heard of your intended departure, via Havre, I determined that my Tour should be Westward.

Besides the Articles from the Society of Antiquaries, there is a Book from Mr. Brand Hollis, which I have promised to be the bearer of. Have you got the publications compleat of the Royall Society? If you have not, shall I ask for them also?

Mr. Adams is very well and in good spirits. If I can render you service in any shape pray command and oblige Your Affectionate and faithful

Edwd: Bridgen

I hope for the honour of 10 days notice before you judge that you shall arrive at Havre.
