From Francis Childs (unpublished)
New York Aug 5. 1786
Dear Sir

Capt. Whyte of the Mercury, a Ship for London, will sail about the 10th. If you have any thing to send there, please to forward it me in time, that it may be enclosed in the Box to Mr. Sarsom To whom, as by your desire, I shall, every opportunity furnish, with all the Papers, &c. I can collect.

I am pleased to hear the imperfections are nearly executed, as they are much wanted.

Is it possible to get Almanack Signs for the Pet. Rom. in time for an Almanack. I must begin soon—and have some thoughts that the Pt. Rom. is more eligible than the Text. Your advice will be a favor.

Accept my thanks for your kindness, in recommending Mr. Sarsom as a London Correspondent. With true Respect and Regard I am, Dear Sir, Your Humble Servant.

Francis Childs

By the last Packet there was of Woodfalls Papers—only 4—and those of date very far back: not worth sending you.
