From John Haygarth (unpublished)
Chester 15th Dec. 1788.

Dr Haygarth sends the inclosed papers to Dr Franklin, and, if he approve the opinions they inculcate, requests that he will communicate them to his countrymen in whatever manner he judges most likely to promote their success.

A few years ago, an Inquiry how to prevent the Small pox was transmitted to Dr F. from Dr H. by their friend Dr Percival, which was sent as a token of respect in the Author, for his philosophical discernment, and knowledge.
