From William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Park, Mar, 27th. 1787
Dear and honoured Sir,

I have been detained here much longer than I at first expected, owing to the undecided Character of those who have been about hiring my Farms and Tenements: But I have now I think nearly compleated my several Arrangements, having advantageously let all but the Place I live on, which I have agreed with an able Farmer, and one of good Character, to the Shares. He being to deliver me one half of the Produce of certain Fields which I have stipulated to be tilled, and to bear every Expence attendant thereon, such as seed, Labor, Horses and Instruments of Husbandry. I have reserved the Garden and some Fields for experimental Husbandry. The Farmer and Family moved here to Day being to occupy part of the house. The best part I keep myself. When I see you which will I hope be in a few Days, I will inform you more minutely of any Agreement—which some of my most respectable Neighbors think the best I could have made.

Having occasion for more Money than I brought with me, to pay some old Debts and some late repairs to the Bank Meadow, I should be much obliged to you if you would send me about fifteen Pounds by the Bearer; either Jersey or Pensylvania Money would suit, but the former would be preferable. I have Money in Philada. with which I will repay you on my Return.

Give my Love to all the Family and believe me as ever Dear and honoured Sir, Your Dutiful and loving Grandson

W. T. Franklin
