L’orient 11 May 1785.

I am requested by Mr. Barclay to Acquaint Your Excellency that he received your Letter of 3 Inst. but is at present So indisposed by a Violent Pain in the Ear accompanied with a fever as to be prevented Writing. He hopes in a few Days to be better and will then Set off for Paris with all Expedition, but Wishes in the mean time that Mrs. B. may not be acquainted with his Indisposition. I have the Honor to be Respectfully Your Excellency’s Most Obedient and Very Humble Servant
