Merchant.

One of a group of men who awaited passage to America in Nantes (November 1778). He remained in Nantes, and established a mercantile business there with Isaac Hazelhurst, who returned to America in April 1782.

Became friendly with Jonathan Williams, Jr. and William Temple Franklin. Sought William Temple Franklin’s help in obtaining, from Vergennes, the King’s permission to marry a woman from Nantes (1784).
