From Antoine-Alexis Cadet de Vaux (unpublished)
October 27, 1778
Monsieur le docteur,

The care that I take to remind you of the day that you have chosen (Thursday the 29th) is proof of all our hope to have you judge an experiment which your opinion would necessarily influence. Monsieur le Noir, who is counting, by the way, on the pleasure of spending that day with you, has charged me with reminding you of this.

I will be ready to pick you up at 11 o'clock sharp, as I had the honor of writing to you.

I am, with the deepest respect, Monsieur le docteur, Your very humble and obedient servant

Cadet le Jeune
