I duly received the Letters you honor’d me with of the 26. March. The Letter it inclosed for my Grandfather was deliver’d to him, & he answer’d you a day or two past, I am sorry it is not in my Power to give you more flattering Hopes of obtaining Money in this Country for your Drafts on America. I have proposed it to M. Chaumont & several other Gentlemen who trade with America, but none chuse to accept it, having already more money in America than they know how to dispose of.
Inclosed is a Letter for you, which has been laying on my Grandfathers Desk for some time past, we not knowing where you resided. I believe it comes from America. If so, & you chuse to ansr. it, I will with Pleasure forward your Letters to that Country: & for greater certainty of their arriving, you should at least send 3 Copies.
