Please read the attached letter that I received from M. Busson. Lt. G[enera]l of la Flèche, who had been recommended to you by our poor friend Dalibard with whom he had close ties; and please let me know what I should reply to him. I have also been requested to ask you whether hernias (or intestinal descents) are more or less common in America than in Europe, whether bandages or trusses are imported from England for these illnesses, and especially whether umbilical or exomphalic hernias are common there, and if especially appropriate bandages are known there for this ailment.
Also please send me back my little manuscript by the porter, or bring it to me Saturday at the Comte de Brancas'. I am as always the most devoted of your servants
