The Comtesse d’Houdetot to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Paris, 13 December 1784

Would you have the kindness, Monsieur, to ask your grandfather if he would do us the pleasure of obtaining for Mr. de St. Lambert and myself a work by Mr. Price on the American Constitution, attached to which is a letter in French by Mr. Turgot. Our veneration for the memory of this great man makes everything coming from him and characterizing his genius precious to us. Mr. de St. Lambert will appreciate Mr. Price's work, which he is very anxious to become familiar with. We will only keep it long enough to read it if it is not possible to obtain it for ourselves as Mr. de St. Lambert would prefer. I assure you, Monsieur, as well as my respectable and very dear Doctor, of my sincerest feelings.

Comtesse d'Houdetot

Please do not forget, Monsieur, our musical soirée next Wednesday, that is, in ten days. I hope you will enjoy it.
