I have recd. your favour of the 11 Inst. & agreable to your request have made the necessary enquiries relative to your Seeds, & find those that came by the Brig Betsey were sent you some time since. There are two more Cases in the farmers General store which came by the same Vessell but they are addressed one to Mons. Gerard ruë de Bourdonnais à Versailles & the other to Mr. Dupré de Geneste à Mets; these that came by the Nonsuch I cannot find what has become of them, Mr. Johnson tells me (to whom this Vessell was consigned) that there were saveral Cases on board her, but he don’t remember seeing one for you. The St. Helena having arrived at L’Orient I cannot give you so particular information as I could wish, but I will write to a friend of mine there & request him to make enquiries about them. The St. Helena was consigned to Messrs. Cummings & Macarty & they are perhaps the only persons who may have knowledge of them. I shall inform you accordingly—I shall send you in few days by the way of Orleans, the Rum Beer &c. which you gave Mr. Williams a Note of while at Passy, they will be recommended to the care of Messrs. J. fl[torn] & Pierre Desmadiers Negts. a Orleans those for Mr. Jay Mr. Ridley Mr. Barclay & Mrs. Montgomery will accompany yours.
