From Jacques Brillon de Jouy
Monday, the 4th [May, 1778]

Mr. Brillon pays his respects to Mr. Franklin. He requests his opinion of the following proposal. Mr. Hennet, a friend of Mr. Brillon, who has already supplied arms for Congress, having heard about the arrival of the gentlemen from Virginia, asks if he could use Mr. Franklin's name in offering his services to them.

If Mr. Franklin has no objection, Mr. Brillon begs him to send him the names and addresses of these gentlemen, and even to include if possible, a short note recommending Mr. Hennet, who went to Mr. Franklin's house yesterday evening and did not find him at home.
