It being represented to me by respectable Persons, that the Chevalier des Tours, at present residing in the City of Dublin, is under the Necessity of coming to France on Account of his Health; and he being a known firm Friend of America; if the Vessel in which he embarks should by the Fortune of War fall into your Hands, I earnestly recommend it to you, to treat the said Chevalier with Civility and Kindness, and to permit him to pass with his Baggage unrifled by the first convenient Opportunity you may have of setting him at Liberty to proceed on his Voyage: In so doing you will not only act agreably to the Generosity of your own Sentiments, but to the Satisfaction and with the Approbation of your Employers. Wishing you many successful Cruises, I am Gentlemen, Your most obedient, and most humble Servant
