From Jean-Baptiste Le Roy
At the Galleries of the Louvre, Monday afternoon [April 27, 1778]

My illustrious colleague, I have the honor to ask you to lunch on behalf of M. le Comte de Maillebois, at his house next Wednesday, with Monsieur your grandson and M. Adams. We will eat at exactly one o'clock in order to have plenty of time to eat and then go to the Academy at an early hour. Mme. la Duchesse de Luxembourg's illness has prevented M. de Paulmy from having you to dinner; he could not be more sorry for this. I am sending you the dictionary about which I had the honor of speaking to you, on behalf of the author. Please accept, my illustrious colleague, a thousand sincere assurances of the sentiments which attach me to you for life

Le Roy

Please, Monsieur and dear colleague, have this note forwarded to M. le Veillard.
