I arrived in London yesterday at midnight. Milord Fitzmaurice made me leave again at 9:30 to go sleep at Bowood and has not allowed me time to go embrace M. Franklin and bring him myself the small bundle of engravings that were given to me for him. I left the papa in good health and in good spirits on the fourth of the month. I came to Calais through Picardy. I had a terrible crossing, but finally here I am in England from where I intend to leave around mid-November. I don’t know if I will find M. Franklin upon my return to the city, which I hope will take place around the beginning of next month, but I will be very grateful if he would give me his itinerary and the time he plans to return to France. Milord Fitzmaurice is also quite upset at not having the time to see M. Franklin whom I greet very humbly and whom I embrace with all my heart.
