M. Franklin having arisen, bathed, shaved, combed, and beautified himself to look his best, completely dressed & about to go out, with his head full of the 4 Mesdames Helvétius, & the sweet kisses that he proposes to steal from them, is quite mortified to discover the possibility of this felicity being put off until next Sunday. He will be as patient as he can, hoping to see one of these Ladies at M. de Chaumont's on Wednesday. He will be there early, to see her enter with that grace & that dignity that have so charmed him seven weeks ago in that same place. He even plans to stop her there, and keep her at his house forever. The three others remaining at Auteuil should suffice for the thistle-finches and the Abbés.
