From Jean-Baptiste Le Roy (unpublished)

Here is a letter, my illustrious doctor, that M. Cassini le père asked me to give you. Your gift was received yesterday at the Academy with much gratitude, and the Secretary was ordered to write on behalf of the company to thank you for it.

The young Dr. Home, about whom I spoke to you yesterday and who is going to Vienna, will be glad to bring your letter to M. Ingenhousz; he will be flattered to arrive at the latter's house bringing such a letter. He is a young doctor of merit from Scotland. If you are planning to or if your schedule permits you to give him this letter, kindly send it to me because this morning he is supposed to send for the letters which I promised to write for him. Please accept, my illustrious doctor, a thousand renewed assurances of all my attachment.

Le Roy
