From Barbeu-Dubourg

Monsieur and dear Master

I have the honor of recommending you

1. M. le Chevalier du Gravier, friend of M. Coder, Artillery Officer of the highest merit, who leaves for his home town Bordeaux, where his friend assures me that he could be of great use to you. He will explain to you better than I, in what and how. He only wants to be presented to you.

2. M. de Livoys, Marine Officer currently in service with the Americans to attack the English. He asks to be introduced to his adoptive compatriots as a good brother. Attached is the letter I received about him from his uncle who is a worthy man, and a very good neighbor. I have the honor of being, with an inviolable attachment, My dear Master, Your very humble and obedient servant

Dubourg

I just received a note from M. Coder who says that M. Des Granges has been fired by M. de Montieu for having given away some secrets, etc., etc., and that Des Granges and all the apprentice tailors want revenge on M.Coder…
