Jean-Baptiste Le Roy to the American Commissioners
July 16, 1778

Messieurs the Deputies of Congress are earnestly requested to relieve the concerns of a father and mother who are extremely worried about their son, from whom they have not had any news in a very long time. This young man, their only son, is an Artillery Captain in the United States service. His name is Ganot. His father is Lieutenant Colonel of Artillery in the French service. They would appreciate it very much if the Deputies have this note sent to the American Army so that they can get word of this young man.

Le Roy

Notation: M. Ganot Captain of Artillery in the service of the United States of North America.
