The Abbé Andre Morellet to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
[6 March 1783]

I am indeed guilty, Sir, of negligence in your regard. I have not yet responded to your kind invitation for me and for M. Marmontel. I am only remembering it at last this morning and I am hastily letting you know that I hope to come with M. le chev. de Chastellux, who has promised to bring me, but without M. Marmontel who had a prior engagement. Please accept my apologies and the assurance of my respectful affection.

L’Abbé Morellet

Thursday
Addressed: To Monsieur / Monsieur Franklin Junior / in Passy
