To Marianne-Marie-Jeanne-Françoise Camasse, Comtesse de Forbach (unpublished)
Philadelphia July 13. 1787
My dear Friend,

There is no one of that Character whom I left in Europe, that I think of so often as of you, and with great reason, the Instances of your Friendship to me while I resided there being innumerable, and having made the deepest Impression on my Mind. I am now past 81 Years of Age, and therefore tho’ still in tolerable Health cannot expect to survive much longer. We are at a great Distance, and I can never again have the Pleasure of seeing you. I write this Line then to express my sincere Wishes of Health and Happiness to you and your good Children, and to take leave. Adieu, most respectable and most amiable of Women, and believe me while I live, Yours most affectionately

B.F.

I hope the good Keralio is well. My Grandson presents his Respects. I beg your amiable Daughter to accept a few of our Squirrel Skins, which I send with this by Commodore Jones; to do me the honour of lining one of her Mantles with them for the ensuing Winter.
