From Antoine-Alexis Cadet de Vaux (unpublished)
April 25, 1785
Monsieur

I wanted to send you the article on corn that I am planning for the Journal before it is published. M. Gendron will have the honor of presenting it to you with a sample of some transformations that he had the corn undergo, while making some excellent pastries with it.

Please send me back this note with your observations; you appreciate this floury substance, and you must be interested, Monsieur, in its reputation.

An absence of several months, while I was at    in Brittany on a commission from the King, has deprived me for a long time of the honor of paying you my respects. I will try to obtain this honor as soon as possible.

I am with the deepest respect, Monsieur, Your very humble and obedient servant
