We were not in bed between Paris and Valenciennes—When we got to the last of those two places, we determined to wait for the following diligences & by that manouvre got a repose of two days.
Brussels is a beautiful, neat City, & the adjacent Country a delightful one. In one respect I am disappointed. Many Articles are much dearer here than in France—I am sorry for it, as Oeconomy is my present Motto—Fox set out this Morning for Amsterdam in Company with a Dutch Gentleman we met with at Valenciennes—They expect to sleep at Antwerp this Night.

Romberg et fils. Pray make my Compliments to his Excellency & be so good as to assure him that the sense I have of the obligations I be under to him shall never be obliterated from my Breast whilst I continue to breathe. Believe me to be, Dr Sir, Yr. most obt. & very humbl: St.
