I write you from this City where we arrived for dinner, & from whence we should immediately have continued our Route to Brussels, had we not have been disabled by the excessive fatigue which we have experienced since our departure from Paris. We shall therefore remain here till Monday morning when we shall proceed for Brussels, where I shall make no longer stay than what may be absolutely necessary to enable me to proceed directly to Amsterdam. We have not been in bed since we left Paris, from which you may easily imagine that we are not in the most comfortable situation and Mayo complains of a violent Head Ach which he attributes to want of Sleep. These little derangements excepted we are in perfect Health. Mayo joins me in requesting our most respectful Compliments to your Grandfather and I will beg you to be assured of the sincére esteem & friendship of Your old Classmate
