From Jean-Baptiste Le Roy (unpublished)
Thursday evening

I will be prevented from having the pleasure of dining with you this Saturday, illustrious Doctor, since it is the day the Academy convenes. We shall postpone our reunion until Sunday. However, on Sunday you might receive quite a few visits from fellow-Americans anxious to pay their respects. Send me word if Sunday is opportune and if we will not be a hindrance. Accept in the meantime many compliments.

Le Roy

Addressed: to Mr / Mr Franklin, minister plenipotentiary / from the United States of America to the Court of France / in his hotel / in Passy
