The publication of the Princess of Deskaws name as an Honorary Member to the Phill: Society at Philad: has induced the spanish Minister Don Diego de Gardoqui to mention to me that he imagines the addition of that of the Dutchess of Osuna to the list of Honorary Members will be perfectly consonant to the Intentions of the Society, and that her Ladyship will be an ornament to that Body. Don Diego informs me that the Dutchess of Osuna Presides the Royal Oeconomical Society of Ladies for National Improvements, is a Literary Character and a great Promoter of Literature, is a warm friend to this Country, and has both the Will and the Power to be of use to our Society.
As I perfectly agree with the Spanish Minister on the propriety of the measure and that we have but few Associates in Spain I beg leave to recommend her Ladyship to the choice of the Society as an Honorary Member at the next ensuing Election With great Respect I remain Dear Sir Your very obedient Servant
