A turbulent, seditious and dangerous spirit appears to be still prevalent among a number of the people of the county of Huntington. It is of such a nature, that I conceive it to be my duty to mention it to Your Excellency and the Honorable Council. The Letter and Affidavits inclosed herewith witll discover a disposition and conduct in that county hostile to all order and good Government.
From these papers and some other information I have received, I am induced to believe, that some speedy and efficacious remedy ought to be applied to the case, and that the wisdom and authority of Council will be necessary on the occasion.
