William Luton to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Abbeville Decre. 7th. 1784
Sir,

I have just arrived here, bad weather hath hindered my further Progress. we have had nought but Hail and Rain since your departure the Horse has been very poorly—with a Cold but is mending—nevertheless am obilgated to travel slowly—much question I shall be able to reach Passey before tomorrow Week—as a rest day is necessary—The Dog remains very well—and believe that everything shall be done to bring the Horse up safe. that lies in the Power of Sir, Your most Obedt. & very hbl servt.

Wm. Luton
