Dear Sir

I was Honor’d with the Receipt of yours of the first Instant, and most assuredly shoud have long Since have Remitted you the Sum you very Politely and Generously supplied me with when in Real want, but Mr. Williams had it long in agitation and I Concluded he woud Certainly go which prevented my not attending more Immediately to have discharged with my best thanks your debt,—I Shall Either get Mr Williams to direct the Sum to be paid you, or Remit you a Bill for the Amount, by Next Post, shoud have done so this day, but am Confined to my Bed with a fevour—You have been Misinformd with Respect to Montague, Nevertheless I am greatly Indebted to you for the Polite offer you hang out to me, shoud this been the Case in offering to Recover him again at Paris I will be much Oblge’d to you to Present my Compliments to Mr Raymond and that I shall also Remit him the Sum due him and wish that he woud Secure my Papers in a Small well fastend trunk and send them me the first and safest Opportunity.
