To — Ruellan (unpublished)
Philada. March 9. 1786
Dear Sir,

Your Favour of the 18th. of August last, came to hand but the 6th Instant, by way of Baltimore. I wrote to you since my Arrival here, to acquaint you with our fortunate Passage, and happy Meeting with our old Friends, which however did not make us cease to regret our Parting with those we left in France.

The Letter you mention to have sent me via London thro’ the hands of Messrs Thelusson, has not yet reach’d me. As to the Ballance of my Bill on Mr. Grand, remaining in your Hands after paying the Ten Guineas to Capt. Jennings, I beg it may be laid out in Books to be divided among my young Friends your lovely Children, as the Commencement of a little Library for them, and something by which I may be recall’d to their Remembrance. I hope their Health is perfectly restor’d, and that they with good Mrs. Ruellan, may long continue well and happy.

The Clementine is not arrived, but our Baggage is all come safe in another Vessel.

If in any thing I can serve you or any Friend of yours in this part of the      be assured that your Commands will be exe[cuted?] with pleasure by, Dear Sir, Your much obliged and most obedient Servant

B Franklin

My grandsons are flatter’d by your kind Remembrance of them, and join in presenting their Respects to you and Made Ruellan
