My Father the farmer is Dead or you would have Seen him ’ere this, his Son has not been in your City Since your Arrival, or Should have paid his respects to you, your Son, formerly Governor of the Jersey’s had some Acquaintance with me and before he was in Exile his Lady when at Perth-Amboy doubt not Acquainted him by letter that Jonathan Rumford Jun. was then living and Services offered although J. R. carried the Musket this he Shouldred from Principle, the which may carry again when think it is right. Inclosed you will receive the which for your Perusal if you think it may be of use to the People will thank you to have it Published, if not, the people may not understand no more than by white Sheets of Paper. I am with the greatest Sincerity your true friend &c who would wish to Serve you and yours when in my Power.
