From Jonathan Williams, Jr. (unpublished)

Honoured Sir

Tuesday Evening

Please to send by the Bearer the note to the Chief Judge.

I have just receiv’d a Letter from my Father in Law in which he says, “Our Elections turn out better than I expected. I have seen a list and a clear majority of 15 in favour, made up I think fairly, the Governor counted against and I believe he will be for it.”

There are several Counties yet to choose; for my own part, I feel a confidence that if there were but a majority of one that one would not be lost by the Investigation, and many may be gain’d. Yours most dutifully and affectionately

J. Williams
