From Aeneas Lamont (unpublished)
Baltimore February 24th. 1787.
Sir,

Some months ago, when I was in New York, my friend Mr. Childs informed me that you were going to establish a letter-foundery—Therefore, having occasion For a Small Office, I have taken the liberty of writing to you, to know if you have any of the different kinds on hand and upon what terms you could furnish them. Long Primmer, Burgoise and Breview (say 200 lbs of each) with a few sorts for heading and handbills, are the kinds I would want.

My intentions are to establish a Printing Office, and, if convenient, a Newspaper, in Winchester in Virginia: As the place is thriving, and the neighbourhood populous, I have flattering prospects of meeting with a common share of encouragement.

Your answer, as soon as convenient, will much Oblige, Sir, Your Most Obedient Humble Servant

A Eneas Lamont

His Excellency / Benjamin Franklin Esqr.
(turn) Pray be kind enough to also let me know the price of Pica and English.
