Dear Friend,

I have just heard of this Ship’s Sailing for Holland this Afternoon, and have only time to acquaint you, that Mr John Williams has settled your Account with Mr Vaughan’s Brother at Boston, and delivered to him your Certificate, on which no Interest has yet been paid. I purpose writing to your fully very soon, as I am retiring in a few Days to my Grandson’s Plantation in the Country for a Month, where I may be free from Business and the Interruption of Visitors, and have Leisure to write to my Friends. I continue well, as I hope you are, and am as ever, my dear Friend, Yours most affectionately

B Franklin
