William Alexander to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Hotel des Armes Imperial 13 Febry 1783
My Dear Franklin

Inclosed is a letter to Mr. D’aguesseau, which I have left open wt. a Cachet volant, and I earnestly request That you will recommend it to Madme. de la fayette to be deliverd immediately & supported by the Eloquence of That Charming woman. This is perhaps the most infamous of all the infamous measures that Ever has been attempted. The Estates were sequestrated. If Walpole has just Claims the sequestrators will be ordered to acct. to Him. But If his Claims are unjust or satisfied—He can ruin the Estate in 3 Months before the English get possession. I beg you will return this by the Bearer wt. a proper direction to be delivered Instantly.

I am wt. most hearty Attachment Your

W. Alexander
