My last was dated the 15 septr: 80, to which I have not recd. an Ansr. Not knowing the extent of my little Fund in your hands I cannot exactly proportion my demands: But if it is considerable enough to purchase me a dozen of white pocket Handkerchiefs with small coulour’d Borders, I beg you would lay it out in that manner, & forward them by the first private Opportunity. I have to request they may be of the first & largest to be had; & in order to prevent their paying any Duty in entering this Kingdom, I should be obliged to you if you would get them hemm’d & mark’d with WF.—Tho’ my Funds in your Hands should not be extensive—enough for this Purchase, I advise you nevertheless to make it; & I will immediately remit you the overplus in any manner you may order.—
Permit me to introduce to your Acquaintance the Bearer Mr: Brown, a Young Gentleman from America, who purposes residing sometime in London with a view of perfectioning himself in the Art of Miniature painting.—He is a Young Man of good Family & of a very amiable Character: and I shall esteem as done to myself any Civilities you may think fit to shew him.
Please to make my respectful Compliments acceptable to your amiable Lady, & believe me very sincerely Yours &ca.
