Mr. Whatley’s best Comps. wait on Mr. Franklin: Call’d upon him lately wth. Dr. Rowley who had din’d & discours’d wth. his Grand Father at Paris. Mr. W. wish’d to have had ye Pleasure of his & Dr. Rowley’s dining wth. him sans Ceremonie, as indeed Mr. W hopd for long since by Mr. F. He well knew ye Etiquette requir’d Ceremonie particuliere, but he hopd Mr. F might have guessed, that that, was not Mr W’s turn.—Mr. W wou’d be glad to have an Indication of Mr. F. time of Departure as he purposes to trouble him wth. a Letter for his G. Father

Shou’d Mr. F be disengaged tomorrow at 4 Mr. W wd. be glad of ye Honor of his Compy.; when he hopes for that of Dr. Rowley.
