Mr. H. Steuben Major Engineer in the Prussian Service and Knight of the Order Du mérite, craves the favour of H. Exy Dr. Franklin to execute his repeated importunities and to be so kind as to forward the annexed Letter to Congress.

He has already directed several in the Same Manner, to his Son, who is a General Officer in the Service of the United States; without ever being So lucky, as to receive any Answer. from him, nor from Dr. Franklin, whom he intreats in the most Submissive manner to grant this Satisfaction to his grey hair, and on the occasion of the New Year, pours a thousand Vows and implores as many Blessings in His favour and that of the American Cause
