From Major — Turner and William Thornton (unpublished)
Tuesday pm [c. 1785]

Major Turner and Dr; Thornton present their respectful Compliments to Doctor Franklin, and, as John Cram could not be induced to stay in Philadelphia, by a very liberal Subscription which their Friends very humanely offered, they have erased the Doctor’s Name from the Subscription paper, and return John Cram’s grateful thanks to the Doctor for his generous attempt to serve him.

Addressed: Doctor Franklin
