Sir

I presented the letter to Monsr. de Raynevalle which you were pleas’d to honor me with He inform’d me that it wou’d have been quite suficient had it been directed to the Count de Vergenne as he had spoke to him this morning upon the subject & he express’d a great willingness to comply with the requst that he suppos’d wou’d be made him in my behalf—Mr. Raynevalle was kind enough to give me a few lines to you which I left with the porter—he told me that your compliance with that & mentioning that I wish’d for a protection of my person, furnature, & Books, wou’d be quite suficient to obtain it—Excuse Sr. my telling you that I have such accounts from Nantes as makes an immediate return absolutely necessary for the preservation of my character & the property that I have there that if you can consistantly comply with the request of Mr. Raynevalle, I have most earnestly to request that you will be pleas’d to do it immediately as my future happiness or missery may depend upon it—In great haste—I am most respectfully Sir Your Most Obedt. & very huml. servt.
