La Grange Sunday Noon

Yesterday Morning, my dear friend, I sett off Early for a little Excursion in the Country & shall not return till next Saturday, I had intended calling on you Friday Eveng. but as I returned late from Paris ’twas impossible; As I suppose the moment of your departure approaches & you’ll thereby be occupied more & more Permit to remind you (at some leisure moment) to be so good as to write the Letter of recommendation which you have been so obliging as to promise me for Mr. Vaughan in London, The friend’s name for whom I have asked it you is M. de Launay de Tillieres. (Brother of M: de Launay Receveur des finances whom perhaps you may know.) At my return I shall immediately do myself the pleasure of Calling on you, In the meanwhile believe me Most sincerely & most affectionately, Yours

Denis de Vitré
