George Hammond to William Temple Franklin (unpublished)
Dover Octr 31st 1783
My dear Sir

On my arrival at this place I found a parcel from Mr Hartley addressed to Dr. Franklin, which I have sent to Dessein with orders to forward it to you; as it contains some flannel as I understand, an article prohibited in France, I take the liberty of informing you of its being sent, that in case any difficulty may occur, you can take proper measures for its recovery—

With my most respectful Compliments to Dr. Franklin, Mr Jay, Mr Munro &c I am most sincerely & affectionately yours

Geo Hammond
